Matthew 13:25-43 “But while everyone was SLEEPING his enemy came and sowed weeds AMONG the wheat and went away. When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, THEN the weeds also appeared.
The enemy comes in the night, while we are sleeping, while we are trying to grow good wheat and sowed weeds. These weeds can look like desires in our lives, sinful thoughts, idols that we can’t seem to put down.
We can try to ignore these things, thinking that will make them go away but that weed will continue to grow if we don’t dig it out and BURN it.
A couple of years ago I planted strawberries in my garden. After the season was over it was time to uproot them and plant a new row. I threw the old strawberry plant on the ground thinking they were dead and done for since I cut off the roots. To my surprise the strawberries took root in the ground I threw them on and began to produce again.
It wasn’t enough for me to dig it out, cut it off, and throw it away. I needed to BURN them if I wanted them gone.
This is the same with the sin and things that have a hold of us in life. We cannot just ignore it or the roots will continue to grow and infect the good harvest around us. We can’t dig it out and throw it away or it can return and continue to flourish. We must BURN it.
What is burning? A SACRIFICE! WORSHIP to the Lord!
A Shâbach offering is to SHOUT and address in a loud tone and command triumph! That you are victorious because of the life and death of Jesus.
Bring your weeds to the alter, lay them at the feet of the most high God and burn them as an offering shouting and addressing that you WILL have victory over these things!
Romans 8:1 “There is therefore now NO condemnation for those who are in CHRIST JESUS for the law of the spirit has SET YOUR FREE in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.”
Jesus is not shaming or condemning you for the things you bring to him.
Do not allow the seeds that the enemy has sowed keep you from sacrificing and worshiping the Lord with all of your soul.
